Salem, New Hampshire USA, April 5, 2000 - Newpoint Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of Satellite Network Management Systems, will introduce Newpoint-Pathfinder, a new concept in audio/video router management at the NAB 200 Conference. Newpoint-Pathfinder provides centralized management of audio/video interconnections in broadcast facilities and teleports. In these applications there can be as many as 500 active feeds and facilities can be located in different geographical areas. These factors make operations extremely difficult. Newpoint-Pathfinder provides the capability to manage multiple site, multiple vendor, multiple routers and also considers the cost of connections when developing a path. This means Pathfinder can manage your audio/video interconnections and allow your facility to perform as a single integrated unit. The benefits are reduced errors, increased productivity and independence in choosing routers. Newpoint-Pathfinder currently supports Grass Valley routers, additional routers or other equipment can be added on request. Additional device support is added by developing drivers in Newpoint's Compass system using the Video Driver Studio. "By adding Newpoint-Pathfinder to our suite of Satellite Network Management products, Newpoint significantly increases its leading position in satellite communications and broadcast facilities management software," said Paul Houle, CEO and President of Newpoint Technologies, Inc. "initial interest has far exceeded expectations indicating industry's need for this type of product." Newpoint Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1985 and today is the recognized leader for providing teleport control and network management of hybrid and broadcast distribution systems.
