Newpoint Technologies, Inc., the recognized leader in network management technology, is introducing version 6.0 of the award winning Compass network management software. The major enhancements to Compass 6.0 are in the server performance and the development platform. This release more than doubles the processing speed over previous versions, making it possible to process 14,000 transactions per second.
For systems integrators, OEMs and engineers responsible for building out the systems, the most exciting new tool in version 6.0 is Compass Creator. Creator takes a user step by step from a clean installation of the Compass software through the configuration of a fully functioning multi-node global network management system. Creator even automatically generates the user overview, Block diagrams, sub-system and device detail pages for the graphical user interface.
“Our intention for this version of compass was to take the work out of deploying and maintaining your network management system. We have been using these tools for about a year on systems installed by Newpoint as part of our beta release.” According to Mark Bolduc, Director of Engineering for Newpoint, “We have been constantly improving on them to drive the cost of delivering a quality NMS to the user down. Now integrators, OEMs and our end users can take advantage of them to deploy Compass systems around the globe.”
Also new in Version 6.0 is a familiar, Windows Explorer like administrator. The new Administrator enhances the users experience and capability to administrate a real-time network management system by providing a tree view of the servers, devices and drivers installed on the network.
