has announced the introduction of its Newpoint Compass Software for the
protection of earth station traffic.
Newpoint Compass Software operates on the Windows NT platform. It comes
bundled with numerous capabilities that greatly reduce the need for custom
engineering, including a large library of built-in interfaces for most
major manufacturers of earth station devices. In addition, the optional
Newpoint Compass Toolkit provides operators with the capability to write
interface drivers for virtually any device. These unique features help
eliminate or greatly reduce the high costs associated with having to create
custom drivers for operation with ordinary earth station control and management
software.
Newpoint Compass Software is exceptionally easy to use. Configuration
is simple, it has a large expansion capacity, full path colorization,
object-based graphics, a real-time device-based database, client/server
base model, security, alarms and scores of other features typically associated
only with custom-engineered systems.
Newpoint Compass Software is provided on a single CD, on which all plug-ins
and options are installed. This comprehensive selection of plug-in modules
allow users to add features and functions to Newpoint Compass Software
without disrupting continuous service, simply by connecting a key, and
with no need to reload software.
