NEWPOINT TECHNOLOGIES APPOINTS DR. ERNEST G. HENRICHON, JR. TO VICE PRESIDENT OF ENGINEERING

Salem, New Hampshire USA, February 5, 1999 --Newpoint Technologies, Inc., the world's foremost provider of computer software programs for satellite earth station control, monitor and network management systems has announced that Dr. Ernest G. Henrichon, Jr. has been named Vice President of Engineering.

"This is a new position that will give Newpoint Technologies added capabilities," said Company President, Paul M. Houle. "Dr. Henrichon will help steer the development of our next generation of products, while building added features and benefits into Newpoint Compassä, SatNet Managerä, and our custom integration services."

Dr. Henrichon has more then 25 years experience in high-technology fields. He has directed numerous software, hardware and systems developments, with emphasis on imaging technologies. He holds five patents and has authored numerous publications and technical papers.

Prior to joining Newpoint Technologies Dr. Henrichon was a management consultant and acting Vice President of Engineering at Sanders Prototype, Inc. -- a manufacturer of 3-D rapid prototyping equipment -- where he was head of a development group staffed by software and hardware engineers, mechanical designers, chemists and ink-jet technologists.

Dr. Henrichon's earlier positions include Vice President of Engineering at Image Technology, Inc., where he was in charge of the development and applications engineering departments and had responsibility for the development of a wide range of software and hardware components used in image processing applications. He has also been General Manager of Signum Inc., a supplier of custom real-time digital video storage systems, and Director of Ease-of-Use Products at Cognex Corp. developers of an icon-based programming approach for industrial inspection systems. Dr. Henrichon has also been responsible for product development and custom services for Factory Monitoring Systems, Computer Based Training (CBT) packages, and Pattern Recognition investigations during his tenure at Scientific Systems Inc.

As co-founder and President of Xicon Data Entry Corporation, Dr. Henrichon spearheaded the development of a multi-font optical page reader. The company was subsequently merged with Hendrix Electronics Inc., where he assumed additional responsibilities for the development of page layout and database text handling systems for the printing and publishing industries.

Dr. Henrichon holds a BSEE degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and both an MSEE and Ph.D. from Purdue University. He resides in Bedford, New Hampshire, with his wife Margie.
